A pusztafentősi fa templom lángok martaléka lett
Még egy hagyományos templom, amely örökre eltűnt.
A hétvégén szünetet tartottam a hírek követésében. Csak ma láttam, mi történt péntek éjjel Máramarosban. A Pusztafentős (Posta) faluban, Remetea Chioarului községben, Máramaros megyében található fa templomot lángok emésztették el, miután valószínűleg a vihar alatt villámcsapás érte.
Bár 1675-ös építési évet emlegetnek, a templom valószínűleg újabb keletű volt: a görög katolikusok építették 1835 és 1839 között, 1839-ben szentelték fel, és Szent Keresztelő János volt a védőszentje. A kommunizmus idején, a görög katolikus egyház betiltásával a templom védőszentjét Szent Illésre változtatták, és az ortodox egyház tulajdonába került.
A lángokban elpusztult templom A kategóriás történelmi műemléknek volt minősítve. A máramarosi stílusban épült templom az épületegyüttes részei közötti harmóniával és egyensúllyal tűnt ki. A templom előcsarnoka fölé emelkedő torony tetején egy különleges kereszt állt, amelyen a máramarosi görög katolikus templomokra jellemző félhold volt látható. Az előcsarnokot négy masszív tölgyfa oszlop tartotta, amelyeket széles, mesteri kivitelezésű boltívek kötöttek össze. A templomban helyenként megmaradtak a belső festmények, egy gyönyörű ikonosztáz mesteri kivitelezésű ajtókkal, valamint fára festett ikonokkal.
