Wood Art Museum, Câmpulung Moldovenesc

Câmpulung Moldovenesc is home to the only museum in the country dedicated exclusively to wood. Founded in 1936, the Wood Art Museum offers us an insight into craft traditions and provides a perspective on the cultural identity of the area. This is because the Bukovinian community had a close connection with wood. The museum's halls display furniture, tools, religious objects, and folk art, each bearing the mark of local craftsmanship.

In addition to the well-organized ethnographic exhibition, there is another permanent exhibition: that of the city's long-standing carpentry school. The exhibition combines material heritage with documents, photographs, and recordings, becoming a space for memory, education, and rediscovery of local history. The museum's attic houses temporary exhibitions, which are also not to be missed. In the museum's courtyard, there is also a mini village museum.

So if you are passing through the area, it is worth taking a break and visiting this unique museum in the country.
